Getting started
Create the project first.
Then plan week one.
Add the game details, import the assets that explain the core gameplay best, and place the first content tasks on your promotion calendar.
1. Create a game project
Add the game name, Steam store page, category, key selling points, target languages, and current stage. IndieSwell uses these details to select relevant prompt recipes and promotion guidance.
Answer a few specific questions first
- What do players do most often in the game?
- Which footage explains the gameplay most clearly?
- Who is the game for?
- What should someone do after seeing the post?
2. Import the first assets
You do not need to organize every historical file at once. Start with the GIFs, short videos, and screenshots that best represent the current build, then tag them by use.
A useful starting structure
Core gameplay, visual highlights, failure moments, characters and enemies, development process, updates, and player feedback.
3. Schedule four content tasks
- A core-loop GIF that explains the gameplay quickly.
- A 20–40 second video that shows change or a high point.
- A developer-perspective post explaining a design decision.
- A community post with one specific, easy-to-answer question.
Spread them across one week, and choose the target platform and copy-generation settings for each task.
